Under the title "Ein Aufruf zu Sittlichkeit und kritischem Denken," Dennis Yücel's article in the new issue of "wir" magazine, published by the Ernst-Reuter-Gesellschaft, examines the role of the Critical Edition in the reception of Arendt’s works. General editors Anne Eusterschulte and Barbara Hahn explain how the Critical Edition provides, for the first time, a reliable textual basis for Arendt’s multilingual works, enabling an integration of the German and US-American reception of her works. The article also discusses the varying contents of the different language versions of Arendt's texts—and their reception history among readers in the US and postwar Germany.
