News on the Editorial Team

There are new additions to the editorial team of the Hannah Arendt Edition: Professor Marcus Llanque (University of Augsburg) has joined the team of the general editors. Professor Hans-Jörg Sigwart and Dr. Jürgen Förster (RWTH Aachen) are joining the team as volume editors.

Prof. Dr. Hans-Jörg Sigwart and Dr. Jürgen Förster from the Institute of Political Science at RWTH Aachen University will edit the work complex “Einführung in die Politik”, which is due to appear in print in 2029. Hans-Jörg Sigwart holds the Chair of Political Theory and History of Political Ideas and is spokesperson for the “Science and Democracy” field of activity at the Human Technology Center at RWTH Aachen University. His research interests include modern political theory and philosophy, social theory and the history of ideas in the USA. He has published on Arendt and the limits of the political or opinion, morality and truth in Arendt. Jürgen Förster is a research associate at the Chair of Political Theory and History of Political Ideas and completed his doctorate on Hannah Arendt's understanding of institutions. His research interests include democratic theory, political philosophy and Arendt's works. He has published on Arendt and the critique of ideology, The Human Condition and Arendt's reflections on human rights.

Prof. Dr. Marcus Llanque holds the Chair of Political Science with a focus on Political Theory at the University of Augsburg and has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Jakob-Fugger-Zentrum (Center for Advanced Transnational Studies at the University of Augsburg) since 2023. He has published on topics including Arendt's understanding of politics and its relevance for the 21st century and Arendt and the republican understanding of immortality. His research interests include democratic theory, republicanism and the history of political ideas. Llanque, who has been part of the editorial team of the Kritische Gesamtausgabe for several years, will also be joining the general editor's team. He will edit Arendt's “On Revolution” / “Über die Revolution” (expected publication date 2029) together with Sara Gebh, Ph.D., who joins the editorial team now. Gebh's research interests include political theory and the history of ideas, democratic theory and the history of anti-democratic thought. She is a PostDoc in the ERC project "Prefiguring Democratic Futures. Cultural and Theoretical Responses to the Crisis of Political Imagination“ under the direction of Oliver Marchart and, in this context, heads the sub-project ”Archive. Refiguring Forgotten Institutions".
