Public Reading with Grit Straßenberger: "Die Denkerin. Hannah Arendt und ihr Jahrhundert" – New Date
Event of the Critical Edition with Grit Straßenberger (Universität Bonn)
"Hannah Arendt is the thinker of the 20th century. Her writings and her life reflect the profound upheavals of this period: the rise and fall of totalitarian regimes, experiences of flight and alienation, but also hopeful new beginnings shaped her entire thinking. But Arendt did not want to merely report and bear witness; she wanted to understand. Like no other, she succeeded in understanding—and experiencing—the radical upheavals, existential losses, and unexpected opportunities of the dramatic 20th century."
Grit Straßenberger (Universität Bonn) reads from her new biography of Hannah Arendt and discusses the person Arendt, her role in the intellectual history of the 20th century, and the contexts of her works. Introduction by Anne Eusterschulte (FU Berlin). Moderated by Hannah Gerlach and Ingo Kieslich (FU Berlin).
